A World of Difference

Introduction: Welcome back to Term 3 everyone, This morning we had been introduced to a new topic in Immersion Assembly named (A World of Difference), like we always do.
Immersion Assembly is a common thing we do every term, they show about the different things we students are about to learn.
Each team from team 1 up to 5 had the opportunity to make a permanents to show what they were gonna do.

Team 1: Learning about what other students around the word do,
like other people we travel, eat and wear different things because it's the way we were learnt to, for other students around the world some may walk to school, boat to school and even jet ski to school.
So concluding to that Team 1 are going to be learning about how other students do particular things.

Team 2: Stylish World Tour
For this whole term they will be learning about world tour and see different type of places and learn interesting facts about them, like team 1, they will as well be learning about food.

Team 3: Amazing Race
For team 3 they had preformed a recreation of a very famous TV-show called Amazing race, where they raced all over the world and did some crazy/enjoyable things. Showing this they looked like they had been having lots of fun have enjoyable moments, in the ending part you see Mrs King failing to get 1 or 2 place which leads her to elimination. But other then that it was a incredible remake of Amazing race. For this term they will be learning the same as (Team 2), they will be learn about the worlds and its places.

Team 4: Food Around the World
For their preferment they showed them eating different types of foods and enjoying it. each teacher had some type of food from different places and researched it and found some incredible facts.
As well as the other team they will be learning about different types of foods around the world.

Team 5: Myths & Legends
For team 5's presentation performed a story called Sina and the eel. So for this term they will be learning about myths and legends, like the one they performed, they will be finding story from very old times and seeing if was a myth or a legend. They will as will be learning about (A World of Difference)

Reflection To Term 3

Reflection To Term 3

During these past few weeks I've learnt some incredible things. When the lock-down occurred there was barely anything I could do until school came around, ever since then I've been blessed as well as many others to come to school and learn more educational things.

My highlights coming back to school was learning some incredible things especially when we had to keep some rules to stay safe and also for having beautiful teachers that taught us some valuable lessons during covid-19 crisis, another highlight was getting the confidence to stand up to my class and doing my genius hour presentation.

Next term I'm looking forward to learning some new things, getting more confidence so that one day I could stand in-front of a crowd of people without stuttering and hopefully getting to do genius hour again like what we did this week.

Here Is 5 Things I've Been Blessed With This Term

  1. I've been blessed to come to school everyday well unfortunately other people couldn't and chatting to my friends instead of calling in google meets
  2. Coming to school and learning phenomenal educational things
  3. My incredible teachair's who taught us valuable lessons well risking there quarantine times for kids for couldn't stay in their bubble and as well as taking care of us students when the term had started and taking their xtra time to prepare lessons to teach us.
  4. Having fun enjoyable moments at school like matariki, coming to school for the first time and painting
  5. During quarantine well ever one was stuck at home and there was nothing to do, we had gotten some work during quarantine which was the easter learning journey.

Matariki (Mฤori New Year)

Matariki (Mฤori New Year)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Friday it was matariki day all so known as moari new year. To celebrate it we had events like; cooking, arts and craft, movie making and sport games. Everyone had a sirva to fill out to diatermia which event we would be in, I got picked in Arts and craft which was a lot of fun, We had to make stars.

First we had to colour them, there were many interesting patters beautiful and neat patters. after we had finished colouring our stars we want panting for the background after that we cut the stars outline and glued it to our background.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Your Highlights; My highlights from arts and craft would probably be panting the background for our stars, because you could be creative with it and add your own patterns and colours to it. My other highlight was sitting next to my friends and having a good time.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Sky; In the Mฤori language, Matariki is both the name of the Pleiades star cluster and also of the season of its first rising in late May or early June. This is a marker of the beginning of the new year.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Should NZ celebrate this and why?: Yes, because matariki is the celebration of Mฤori new year, Mฤori's where the ones who own this land way before we were allowed to come to new zealand so it's right that we celebrate the new year of Mฤori's.

Special Assembly

On Friday morning's we usually meet up for a normally assembly @ 10:00, But today was a totally different experience, we had 2 special guest named Joseph Parker, and his sister Elizabeth Parker. You've probably heard of him before the sensational boxer.

We learnt valuable & important lessons from Joseph like; believe in yourself & nothing beat's handwork. It was an incredible experience, but i

did have some question's like: how long did he have to practice for and do you ever get tired from practice.

I'd like to give my acknowledgement to Joseph Parker. Thank you so much for joining us today and giving us valuable lessons for future being and thank you so so much for you guitar performer

Choose It Narrative || Test

Once upon a time there lived a little girl named Layla, she was a pretty normal girl who always loved dragons, she would sometimes wear her favorite hoodie that had a photograph of a dragon on it, some called her mad and some called her ridiculous but she never really minded. One day well-taking puff her dog that had an always puffed when sneezing for a walk she questioned to herself where dragons lived, she couldn’t imagine of anything better but to see a real-life dragon, after walking puff she stepped outside to water her roses they were the most beautiful flowers you would ever imagine, they were a rich red color, securing in the daylight.

After watering her rose she put the water bucket down and rested on the green grass. Well gawking at the sky for a minute she shut her eyes, then WOOS a huge drake shadow caved her light she couldn't feel the nice light reflecting on her she gently opened her eyes, being exhausted she was shocked flying beyond her was a blue and red dragon it was the greatest dragon your world would ever see. she hurried out the garden where she was resting in, ran through the door then sped to Mrs norman's house, as she was puffing and huffing and thought she was dreaming she tapped on the door and yelled out “MRS NORMAN, MRS NORMAN” out came Mrs. Norman “oh my poor dear what’s the matter, has something happened” the out came a “WHAT’S GOING ON HERE” behind Mrs. Norman was Mr. Buckentin. He was the oldest and scariest man in the fairytale kingdom.

Everyone was scared of Mr. Buckentin; he wore a hat that was as big as a cattle, he had a long rough nose that was never hard to see and he always wore his scarf. Layla shut well puffing to Mrs. Norman “I SAW A DRAGON, I SAW A DRAGON” no one believed in Layla, but as soon as Mr. Bukentin heard what Layla said his eyes want wide so wide it looked like it was going to pop out, Layla ran telling Mrs. Norman and Mr. Buckentin to follow her, they ran to Layla’s small cottage, then heard a loud “WOOF WOOF” they rushed to the back yard and BAM a dragon and been sleeping in Layla’s back yard the whole time. Puff the dog couldn’t stop barking at the poof dragon, Mr. Buckentin and Mrs. Norman couldn’t believe their eyes and Layla just wore a BIG smile.

Then out of nowhere Mr. Buckentin pulled out a long stick and started poking it the dragon was having it and started swiping its tale, Mr. Bukentin soon started whistling to it the dragon stared slowing down and couldn’t start moving it was like it was paralyzed Layla shut “STOP YOUR HURTING IT” he wouldn’t listen to Layla. Soon when the sun was going down Mr. Buckentin got his phone from the back pocket and called someone ten minutes after the call a lot of men had come down to Layla's house and took the dragon in reward Mr. Buckentin got 100,000 casts Layla couldn’t believe what just happened Mr. Buckentin chuckled and said “you silly girl I had been casing dragon’s down for years now thanks to you I’ve finally found one” and walked away smiling.

Mrs. Norman was shocked at what happened and was scared that something could have happened to the poor dragon, Layla and Mrs. Norman teamed up and want saving the dragon they followed the van that took the dragon to an unknown location, there were so many bodyguards outside the cell where they had captured many dragons that said Layla and Mrs. Norman saw too bodyguards having a disagreement than BAM!?! They wore a long black suit and went inside, they saw a map of the whole-cell house and wanted to search for the control room as luck had it they were right next to it on one was it so they opened all the dragon’s cells and looking at the camera all the dragons escaped. They ran outside and saw all the dragons flying around one of them and saw Layla then laid his head on the ground soon all the dragons did it and that was the day Layla became the leader of the dragons. THE END

The 5 layers of the Atmosphere

The 5 layers of the Atmosphere!
By Tatia

The Atmosphere is a layer of gases that encompass the earth, similar to the air we take in. The air might be undetectable yet there's a great deal of things going up in there. It has 5 unique layers; Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere and last Exosphere beginning from the beginning as far as possible up

Troposphere; Troposphere is the main layer of the climate. It's likewise the one we live in, it stretches out from the earth surface to about 12.5 miles in the sky, our climate is framed in this circle water dissipates from the land to become day off, or even hail. The fume adds to the nursery impact. It traps the sun heat near our planet; subsequently warm or cool climate comes, tourist balloons fly in this layer.

Stratosphere; Stratosphere the layer above troposphere is known as the stratosphere, stratosphere ranges from the tropopause to about 31miles up containing about 20% of the world's gases, the ozone layer is found in this circle which shields us from unsafe beams from the sun. The top part from the stratosphere is the most smoking in light of the fact that the ozone layer produces a great deal of it, planes from the fly airplane fly in the stratosphere layer.

Mesosphere; Mesosphere the following environment layer is known as the mesosphere it stretches out from the stratosphere to roughly 58miles high, it is the coldest layer of air about less 130 degrees fahrenheit close to the top. This is where most meteors consume sounding rockets and others may go up to the mesosphere.

Thermosphere; Thermosphere it is the layer over the mesosphere this layer ranges practically 300miles, it's exceptionally blistering as temperatures can reach up to 5,000 degrees fahrenheit this is on the grounds that the air and the thermosphere devours parcels sunlight based radiation most x-beams and UV radiation from the sun are caught up in this circle.

Exosphere; Exosphere it is the last layer of the air, the exosphere begins at the thermosphere however it doesn't generally have a sharp twist, rather it just disperses until it gets unfilled as the space, it's temperature shifts among night and day, around evening time it becomes freezing cold while during the day time it tends to be incredibly blistering. In this layer particles and atoms escape into space and the satellites circle the earth, the layer of the environment that reflects radio waves is the ionosphere; it is the district of the world's climate between the stratosphere and the exosphere.

Presently you think about the five layers of air.

Taha Wairua; spiritual willbeing

Today for our story on yer whare taha wha we are looking at Taha Wairua.

This is to do with our spiritual wellbeing. what we believe in. There are many ways people show Taha Wairua. We talked about this and came up with this list:
1. People pray in public and in private
2. Some people dress a certain way ti show their spiritual well being - what believe in
3. Read and live by a certain set of guidelines: Bible, Quran etc
4. Signs or symbols made with their hands, in jewellery, clothing etc
What other ways can you think of ?

Today our activity was to create are a card to bless another person from our bubble, to make their spiritual Taha 'Wairua' stronger.

Continuing from that here is my card I made for my mother to lift her taha wairua up and to make her happy ;

Taha Hinengaro; I'm grateful for...

  1. I'm grateful for my amazing mom and dad for taking care of me when I was sick, getting me school equipment and for giving me lots of love

Digital Delights

Wednesday 20th May

Activity one; to find the digital sum of a number,
add it’s digits until you reach a single digit.

Example; 43 has a digital sum of 4 + 3 =7
26 has a digital sum of 2 + 6 = 8
A. Find the digital sum of these numbers:

18 (1 + 8 = 9)
27 (2 + 7 = 9)
36 (3 + 6 = 9)
